Week 2, Day 2

OK I am so sick today I defiantly have a influenza or some type of virus. I had a fever all night. I am going to try to stay on plan and rest today.

Breakfast- two eggs and rye toast. This is my favourite breakfast I might eat it everyday. No coffee today I feel sick from the smell.


Snack  a small peach and cottage cheese

Thoughts
After breakfast I fell asleep until noon. I had a snack and fell asleep until 3pm. I woke up from my fever state feeling nausea I had some crackers . I was upset to break the plan but I couldn't stomach anything else. I fell back asleep until 6pm. I feel the fever may be gone. I am so tired. I don't think I can eat. I might have some chicken noodle soup later. I am disappointed that I got sick but I am not throwing my plan away just need to get well and get back on track ASAP.

Week 2, Day 1 + 1st weigh in

Week one weigh in


I am thrilled to say I lost 3.2 lbs during the first week on The Body Sense Natural Diet.

I started Jump Start to Skinny at 194.1. With the weight loss between the two plans I am down to 179.4

Down 14.7 lbs from the 190's to the 170's.


I want to just say as much as a like The jump start program. It really is just a 3 week plan. But since I did one right after the other there are things I really am loving about the body sense plan.
  • It is so easy to have my family eat what I am eating.
  • It is not any more expensive than my usual grocery bill
  • There is a lot of variety in protein 
  • Now in the second week is more foods selection cheese, cottage cheese, fruits, lentils, beans,pasta and bread
  • I feel like I don't need to think about it a lot I am able to make thing my family has always eaten with just slight adjustments to the recipes.

Breakfast- 2 eggs and 1 slice of rye toast with coconut oil, and a coffee with cream

Snack  10 Cherries ans cottage cheese

Lunch BBQ chicken and green salad with lemn and olive oil


Snack  was a real treat whip cream, peach and warm blueberries with stevia (sweetener)
Supper- spicy grilled beef (thin strips) brocoli, grilled zucchini, cheese sauce

Thoughts

  •  the food is good. I am enjoying the fruit
  • I am full all the time I never feel like snacking
  • I am tired and feeling under the weather I think I might be getting the flu or something




Week 1 , Day 7

Sundays are my busiest days and unfortunately today was no different. But I made time for me to get in all the things I needed. That is usually the problem.

Breakfast 2 eggs and a slice of rye toast with butter and coffee with cream

Lunch 1 fast food hamburger with lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo (I tossed the bun) and a side salad

Supper  BBQ chicken, eggplant, zucchini, red pepper and mushroom and a side of coleslaw

I also made chicken and beef for the week and grilled veggies. This makes life so much easier. 




Thoughts

  • I felt today that even though I was busy my focus was on me. I didn't want to make bad choices because I was doing stuff for everyone else
  • I bought all the food I needed for the week and cooked up food to make things easier when I am busy.
  • I took time this morning to dress nicely and put a little more effort into my appearance. 
  • I felt like I was glowing. My skin looks great and my hair has more shine. I even received compliments from some people who haven't seen me in a while.
  • I AM EXCITED FOR MY FIRST WEIGH IN TOMORROW

Week 1, Day 6

Breakfast  Egg and Rye toast



Snack 10 glorious Cherries....this was even better then the bread ! They are my favourite fruit.



Lunch A vanilla protein shake make with plain Greek yogurt. I was busy fixing my SUV all day so it was nice to have something to grab on the go.

Snack 12 almonds

Supper -  grilled chicken (thigh. What I learned on Bob's Jump start to Skinny was I hate chicken breast) with zucchini and rosemary and a little Dijon mustard

Thoughts

  • I am feeling better everyday.
  • I have been spending more time on my appearance. I feel better. 
  • My skin and hair have a glow
  • Today I put on my jeans that I haven't wore all winter ....straight out of the drier and they fit.
  • I have energy and patients that last through the day.

Week 1, Day 5

I bought the ketostix test strips last night. Happy to say I am in ketosis.


What is ketosis?Ketosis is a state the body goes into if it needs to break down body fat for energy. The state is marked by raised levels of ketones in the blood which can be used by the body as fuel.Ketones which are not used for fuel are excreted out of the body via the kidneys and the urine.

Breakfast OMG BREAD (it has been weeks since I have eaten bread).
2 tiny slices of rye bread with butter, 1 egg and coffee with cream. It was heavenly!!




Lunch and snacks to go

Lunch           BBQ chicken, broccoli and roasted red and yellow peppers
pm snack      cheese


Supper-
I spent the day at a seminar. It was just my son and I eating. Nothing was planned and I was not feeling like cooking. I wanted comfort food (chips, fries, pasta mmm). I bought him a frozen pizza on the way home and was planning to just have an egg or some cheese. I looked in the fridge 20 times for something magical to appear. The only thing I had was some ground turkey (just enough for a burger).

I started to think mmm mini meatballs in BBQ sauce or dip (but everything had sugar)

I made up my own recipe.
mini turkey meatballs
saute garlic and onion in a pan, I added fresh rosemary and thyme, salt & pepper
Then I really wanted sauce- so I ground a fresh tomato.
Let it simmer for 20 minutes and added a little Parmesan cheese.

It was so flavourful. I was like having a big bowl of spaghetti and meatballs. I didn't even miss the pasta! AMAZING!



Thoughts

  • I woke up without the alarm clock (30 minutes early) feeling refreshed (I am not a morning person)
  • I feel light
  • Feel like my clothes fit well
  • I felt good, pretty and walked a little taller
  • Proud of myself for not skipping supper or cheating








Week 1, Day 4

I had a super busy day at clinic today but I packed my food and ate my meals. Today there was bread on the menu but I passed it up.

You are suppose to check your ketones on day 3 to make sure your are in ketosis . I didn't have the test strips so I decided to wait till tomorrow to have bread day.

Breakfast- Veggies scramble with asparagus and onions

Snack- Hard boiled egg

Lunch-1/2 can water packed tuna and a green salad with lemon and olive oil.

Snack- protein shake made with coffee

Supper- BBQ steak, grilled zucchini and broccoli

Thoughts
  • I am feeling great
  • More energy
  • Not hungry
  • sleeping amazing
  • enjoying my food
  • notice less irritability
  • felt great to have taken all my food and snacks to work

Week 1 Day 3

Today was a work day. I started late and I prepared food yesterday. It ran smoothly and I didn't skip meals.

Breakfast- 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt (plain) with 2 scoops of vanilla protein powder and cinnamon. It didn't appeal to me to eat it so I made it into a smoothie.

Snack Cheese and coffee with cream ( I didn't have it with breakfast)

Lunch BBQ chicken, broccoli and yellow pepper. I really enjoyed the BBQ chicken.

Snack- hard boiled egg with fresh salsa

Supper Steak (about 6 oz) broccoli and asparagus, cole slaw with  oil and vinegar.


THOUGHTS

  • I am enjoying the simplicity of the food as well as the variety of proteins.
  • I felt energetic today (worked 10-9pm)
  • I felt clearer in my mind
  • Much more relaxed today. I am feeling like I got my energy back and my motivation
  • I woke up feeling refreshed
  • I woke up before the alarm clock by 30 minutes
  • I am feeling much more peaceful and less frantic the plan is simple and doesn't require a lot of thought.
